From humble beginnings to performing in front of millions of people, Scott has appealed to the working class, the average Joe. Born in Cleveland OH to Eddie & Cathy Savol, he is the second of 4 children (Stacy, Patricia & Michael). His love for music started at an early age of 5 when he sang in his sister's baptism. By age 7, he was singing duets with his aunt. In high school he had some vocal training when he joined the school's choir & also learned how to play the piano & trumpet.

After getting his GED, he worked at various odd jobs from working at a pizza parlor to being a security guard for a warehouse place & a corrections officer at a county jail. A native of OH, Scott Savol became a household name after he took a leap of faith when the show increased the maximum age to 28 that led him to audition in Cleveland in the summer of 2004 for American Idol.

His passion & determination to reach his dream has been appropriately summed up by Paula Abdul in one word, "Moxie," according to the American Heritage Dictionary it means, "the ability to face difficulty with spirit, nerve, guts." As a single parent to his then 4-year-old son, Brandon, his mind is set towards reaching that goal. He said, "I want to give him the kind of life that I didn't have."

The three judges, Simon, Randy, Paula and guest judge, LL Cool J were captivated by his empowering rendition of "Superstar" during his AI audition in the summer of 2004. He received his big break on the most popular talent show in the country, American Idol Season 4 in 2005 and placed fifth. His smooth and soulful gospel and R&B flavor captured millions of fans throughout the US covering songs like "You Are My Lady" , "Never Too Much" , "I Can't Help Myself" , Ain't Too Proud To Beg" , Against All Odds" , "One Last Cry" , "The Impossible Dream" , "She's Gone" , "Everlasting Love" , "Dance with my Father" , "On Broadway" and "Everytime You Go Away".

Scott Savol is the uncommon star that has endeared himself to Idol fans by being down-to-earth, soft spoken, humble and deeply spiritual. Fans seem to gravitate toward this everyday guy and his lack of showbiz polish seems to be part of his appeal. His faithful fan group known as the Dawgpound supported him throughout his Idol journey and beyond. Being in the limelight also has its disadvantages but Scott was able to take it all in as part of the game.

"I just expect that whatever God has in store for me is what's going to happen & I take my advice that Paula gave to me on a necklace. It says to embrace your imperfections 'cause none of us will ever be perfect. We all learn everyday. Perfection will never come. But we can all hope to do our best at what we do & I don't look at this as a downfall in my career. Whatever happens it's just another step." Scott said.

Scott and his fellow top 12 idols released "The Showstoppers" which features his single "Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now)" and has been certified Gold, through RCA Records and the single "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" through Arista Records for the American Red Cross Relief for the Indonesian tsunami victims in 2005. His EP album "Only Human" was released in 2007 through Talan/Browne Management and also collaborated with Mahoning Valley Records and released another album "In Spite of All" in 2011. He released his latest single "Be About It" in the summer of 2019 that was in the top 20 charts in the UK.

"I've been quite busy the last few years and I'm going to bring in more happiness in my life with God's guidance and everyone's support. I'm working on a new project right now and it will have a totally different vibe." Scott said.

He is currently based in Cleveland, Ohio while he continues to write and produce his music. He is true to his word & continues to pursue his dream. Afterall, he is an ordinary man with an extraordinary gift.
