HYMN to PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography has taken me

beyond the hills, across the sea,

from verdant fields to mountain peaks,

long beaches white and winding creeks.

The morning sun and sunset too,

the distant clouds and sky so blue,

the weather's cold or summer's heat,

familiar places, culture's feast.

Photography has made me see

from birth to death man's destiny,

at work or play, in love or pain,

all people's joy, success and fame.

Photography prints histories

of war and peace, of smiles and tears,

explores the world's vast open space,

creates with God a friendly race.
