My keiki, my child,

I welcome you into this world!

another being, a new life

God's true love unfolds.

I hear you cry as I hold you

close to my heart

I sing to you sweet lullabies

hush...my darling baby,

nothing, shall keep us apart

overwhelmed with joy weary and tired,

I seemed to be

I looked at you, and you smiled back at me

those tiny hands, and little feet

I count them endlessly,

your funny hiccups and peaceful yawns,

nothing else matters more to me.

I feel fulfilled!

my keiki, my child,

my little precious one,

for I am a mother...yours
